The Two Tylers

Tyler Brown

Tyler Brown began his military career in 2020, completing OSUT as a Combat Engineer before serving with the 101st Airborne Division for three and a half years. During that time, he participated in Operation Lethal Eagle, multiple Joint Readiness Training Center rotations, and a rotation to Poland. He later transitioned to the United States Army Reserve and currently serves in a Psychological Operations Company. Brown is also a college senior pursuing a degree in Finance and an Army ROTC cadet preparing to commission. Upon graduation, he will become the first commissioned officer in his family and the first member of his family to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Tyler Randall

Tyler Randall began his military career at 17, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 2005 as a Combat Engineer. His career took him from Okinawa and joint training with the Republic of Korea Marine Corps to deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines and combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq. He later served as a Rifle and Pistol Instructor at Camp Pendleton and continued his service in the Marine Corps Reserve, supporting humanitarian and construction missions in Belize and Alaska. After a nine-year break in service, Randall returned to uniform in 2024 with the United States Army Reserve as a Psychological Operations Specialist.

Why We Started Troop Issue Collective

Troop Issue Collective started with a simple idea: military and Americana products can be rooted in history and culture without feeling overdone.

We both come from different generations and different parts of the military, but we shared an interest in products that felt more intentional - products that still connected to the people, places, traditions, and imagery behind military service, while also being something we would genuinely want to wear, use, or keep around.

That idea became the foundation for TiC. We wanted to take familiar pieces of military history and culture and present them in a cleaner, more intentional way. The goal was never to strip away the military identity, but to let the history and design speak for themselves.

Spooky 001 is the first example of that approach, but it is only the beginning. Troop Issue Collective is being built to grow beyond car air fresheners into apparel, headwear, accessories, and other military and Americana goods.

Our goal is to build a brand that feels authentic to the military community while still standing on its own as something broader - rooted in service, history, and American culture, but not limited by any one product or audience.
